Optional Overnight Friday, May 19

Rain or shine, Camp K is a beautiful place to spend a day!

Join us as we open up Camp K on Kenai Lake and prepare for this summer’s campers! Share a fun day of working together and exploring camp.

Along with getting camp ready we are doing something new this year by inviting guests to come and stay overnight at camp the night before and have a mini camp experience! If this sounds like something you would be interested in please let us know below and we will provide more details.

Many hands make light work! Some of the typical tasks that take place at this event are:

  • Clean cabins and shower house
  • Trail maintenance/brush clearing
  • Check the beach for debris (trash, drift wood, etc)
  • Clean kitchen and dining hall
  • Prep and move firewood for dining hall and fire circle
  • Set up waterfront sports and target sports area

Schedule/Timing:

The arrival time on Friday evening will be about 5:30-7:30pm and there will be a campfire with smore’s around 8:00pm. If you decide to join us overnight a packing list and more details will be provided. You are more than welcome to come for the Camp K Work Day even if you do not want to stay overnight the night before.

The Camp K Work Day will get started around 9:00 am, and will likely finish up between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.

There will be light breakfast items and hot coffee in the morning, lots of water throughout the day, and lunch sometime between Noon and 1:00 pm. Dress appropriately for working outdoors, including a light jacket for rain and closed toed shoes. Please bring work gloves, hat, and sunscreen. Camp K is located at mile 4 on Snug Harbor Road in Cooper Landing, AK. Hope to see you there!
