Benefits of Before & After School Program

Camp Fire Alaska’s Before and After School programs have been serving youth and families for close to forty years.  These programs are designed to help youth grow and find their spark while also providing support for working parents.  Our professional staff recognize that each child is a unique person with individual learning styles, interests and developmental needs. If you have a couple of minutes, we encourage you to read this article to learn more about how your child can benefit, and get tips on how to choose an after-school program.

Wild Women of Wohelo 2018

Ladies!

Have you ever sent your child off to summer camp and thought to yourself: “I want to go to summer camp too!”?

Well, here’s your chance! Our annual Wild Women of Wohelo Retreat at Camp K is scheduled for August 4-5 this year. This is a ladies only weekend of camp activities like canoeing, hiking and target sports, enhanced with specialty classes such as jewelry beading and flower arranging. Enjoy a relaxing massage, unwind on the beach, invite a friend to come along, and experience being part of a wonderful community of women. Click here to learn more and register.

Operation Purple

Help support our youngest heroes with the gift of summer camp. Camp Fire Alaska is honored to partner with the National Military Family Association each summer to offer Operation Purple Camp for Alaska’s military kids. This week-long camp is filled with traditional camp activities – swimming, arts and crafts, hiking, and more. However, there is something that makes OPC unique from the typical summer camp: it provides military kids with a safe and nurturing space to share their feelings and learn to cope in healthy ways. We offer this camp at no cost to families, and that is only possible with the generous support of local individuals and organizations. Can you help?
