The program criteria developed by Camp Fire USA Alaska Council for the School-Age Child Care Program identifies the following activity areas to be included in each program:
Games/sports
Field trips
Outdoor/environmental awareness
Creative dramatics
Arts and crafts
Music
Cooking/snack preparation
Camp Fire USA Projects and activities

Each daily schedule includes the following elements for the participants:
 Snack  
 Physical activities(structured and unstructured)  
  Quiet activities
  Individual or free choice activities   
  Planned group activities   

 Time for and/or assistance with school work

Afternoon Program
The general daily schedule, with some adjustments due to individual school dismissal time, is as follows:

3:30 - 4:15 Check in/put belongings away/outside free play
4:15 - 4:30 Snack
4:30 - 5:15 Group Activity Time/Interest Center
5:15 - 6:00 Free Play/Quiet Time

Outside Activities
Children spend time outside each day unless weather prohibits it. Parents, remember to send appropriate outdoor clothing with your child for the weather condition that day.

Snacks
Nutritious snacks are served each day. Snack plans are posted weekly at each site.

Group Activities
Group time is when each child works with a specific group of children and a staff person on a wide variety of program activities. Activities are geared to the specific ages, needs and interests of the children in the group.

Choices
