School Age Child Care Programs are
licensed before -and after-school child care for elementary ages in 27 elementary
schools in Anchorage and 2 in Fairbanks. The programs continue throughout the
summer, providing full-day programs in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Staff may choose
to work before school, after school, or both. |

The Community Center Programs are year round
neighborhood-based after school programs that operate
3:30-7:30 PM Monday-Friday. Staff hours at all programs include
set-up,
clean
up, planning,
and training time, which may occur outside of actual hours of
operation. There are 3 centers in Anchorage and 2 in Fairbanks. |

Assistant
Site Director (No positions currently available)
Part-time, 30-35 hours per week. Responsible for implementing the program with
an assigned group of children, as well as assisting Lead Site Director with
daily management tasks and act on behalf of the Lead Site Director (when
absent from site). Qualifications: Experience working with children in a
group and semi-structured setting, program planning, management, and staff
supervision. Completed 12 credit hours in the field of childcare education.
Demonstrated leadership ability and at least one year working directly in
the field. Must be 21 years of age or older. Starting Salary: $11.54 per
hour

Staff

group of children. Qualifications: Prefer high school/GED graduate, some
training or background in child/youth development, education or recreation.

needed to become caring, confident youth and future leaders.
Community living, away from home in a recreational outdoor setting

each summer. Only certified lifeguards are hired for these
positions.

maintenance and record keeping of camp vehicles,

Program
Staff: Camp Fire hires 8-12 counselors
a summer that are responsible for planning and implementing
two week Day Camps in rural communities in Alaska. This
includes collaboration with your program team and supervision
of the children attending the program in all activities.
The rural program curriculum includes overnight campouts,
swimming in cold water, games and other activities. Specialized
skill in crafts, backpacking; nature studies etc. are a
plus. This position requires persons with current life
guarding certification (or strong enough swimming skills
to participate in a life guarding course). This position
requires persons who have demonstrated skills in working
with children, youth program planning, working with minimal
supervision, and who are at least 19 years old. This position
demands cross cultural sensitivity, teamwork and endurance,
but is one of the more unique staff positions we have to
offer. Salary-- $2,300 plus incredible benefits in a cross
cultural learning situation. Employment in Camp Fire’s
other summer programs may be possible after finishing the
rural program.

POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Development is an integral leadership role in the continued
success of Camp Fire USA Alaska Council. The Director leads a development
program to create and implement strategies for all charitable giving
particularly special campaigns, major gifts and planned giving.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
Directs
a comprehensive development program for the Council
based on a formalized development plan, marketing strategy
and budget that assures adequate funding for programs,
services and special projects by securing financial
resources from foundations, corporations and individuals.
Develops
and implements long-range strategic priorities, advances
the Council’s goals, and communicates a broad vision
to the board of directors, volunteers, staff and community
members raising funds and ensures coordination of efforts.
Manages
all major gifts functions including donor prospecting, research,
cultivation, stewardship and solicitation, planned giving
and special fundraising campaigns.
Directs
activities of the development department and provides leadership
and direction to staff.
Oversees
recruitment and orientation of volunteer leadership and insures
a meaningful experience for volunteers.
Creates
written materials for use with donor solicitations and communications
and oversees development of campaign materials. Provides
oversight to all council publications.
Participates
in Council-wide strategic planning and budgeting initiatives.
Capacity
to think strategically and initiate creative problem solving
within the guidelines, policies, values and mission of the
Council and is accountable for specific projects as assigned.
Exemplifies
the council’s value statements, vision and mission
in all actions, communications and relationships.
Ensures
ethical compliance as defined by the Association for Fundraising
Professionals.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
plus advanced business and/or fundraising training. CFRE desired.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fundraising management, including
experience with donor solicitation and capital campaigns.
Record of successful career growth leading to management responsibilities,
including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives and manage performance
of a development team. Ability to foster an environment of creativity
and professional growth.
Knowledge of current and evolving trends in major gifts giving and solicitation
and capital campaigns.
Demonstrated success in asking for and closing major gifts and building
and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents
such as major donors, foundations and corporations.
Superb communications and presentation skills; ability to persuasively
communicate the vision, mission and values of Camp Fire to diverse groups
including major donors, corporate executives, board members and others
who are critical to the organization’s growth and continued success.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
with an ability to navigate information systems.
Highly collaborative work style, able to balance implementation of specific
goals and tasks with fostering cooperation and consensus.
Talent for communicating a compelling and inspired youth development
vision and Camp Fire’s core mission.
RESPONSIBILITY/OVERSIGHT::
Oversees
annual development plan and budget. Manages special campaign
and budget, and ensures that campaign financial reports and
prospect tracking reports are accurate and current. Oversees
all campaign donor acknowledgements.
For special campaigns, acts as primary contact for assigned committees
and tracks progress of every committee.
Design, implement and direct multiple projects, setting deadlines and
ensuring program accountability.
WORKING
